LOCAL OBGYN GROUP OFFERS FREE CARE FOR PATIENTS WHO LOSE THEIR INSURANCE
Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists cite economy, desire to encourage prevention
EDINA, MINN. (February 19, 2009) – Each day there is news of fresh layoffs in Minnesota. Some employees may be left with a severance package, but in reality, many lose their pay and insurance. Guided by the strength of current patient relationships and its commitment to preventive care, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists, P.A. of Edina and Burnsville, Minn., is helping its patients with insurance loss by offering one free preventive gynecology visit in 2009.
“Since our founding in 1980, our mission has always been to work in partnership with our patients, providing quality medical care and individualized support for each woman’s lifestyle and situation,” said K. We know that staying current with preventive care not only keeps patients healthy, but also cuts down on future healthcare costs. It’s really a win-win situation for our patients.”
The program is available to current established patients who provide proof of lost insurance. Services covered include an annual gynecological visit with a doctor or nurse practitioner and a pap smear. Other lab services, including a lipid panel and STD screening, are offered at a reduced rate.
