Minnesota PRSA Honors Risdall McKinney with Classics Award

NEW BRIGHTON, MINN. – The Minnesota chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has recognized Risdall McKinney Public Relations (RMPR) and Premier Mounts with a PRSA Classics Award for “Best Media Kit (Events)” at the 30th Annual Classics Awards banquet on March 27.

For Premier Mounts, an Anaheim, Calif.-based A/V mount manufacturer, RMPR created a media kit that captured the nostalgia of 1977, while forging relationships and generating visibility for Premier Mounts.

Distributed as part of the larger 30th Anniversary and 2007 InfoComm trade show media relations campaign, the 1977-themed media kit proved to be a catalyst for a significant amount of trade show media coverage and editor interest. Coverage in the six months following InfoComm increased 71 percent over the previous six-month period.

“Recognition from your peers is second only to recognition from the client for a job well-done,” said Eva Keiser, APR, vice president of Risdall McKinney Public Relations. “The 30th anniversary project demonstrated how strategy and creativity can come together to deliver results that matter – in this case cultivating media relationships that live beyond media coverage.”

“The 30th Anniversary celebration was an enormous success for Premier Mounts,” said Jim Hall, vice president of marketing for Premier Mounts. “Risdall McKinney created an outstanding public relations plan and developed a top-notch media kit that our trade editors thoroughly enjoyed – as did we.”

In addition to winning the award for “Best Media Kit (Events)”, RMPR was nominated for two other Classics Awards, and both Laura Wightman and Sarah Ryder received Dr. Willard Thompson Scholarships from Minnesota PRSA. Ryder also received the President’s Award and was named “Best of PRSSA.”
